Stampin Up

I am super bored today but I am still recovering from this darn cold. Out of desparation I got out all of those plastic boxes of Stampin Up stamps that I've boughten and never got mounted. Most go back to the days where you had to trim them yourself. YUCK!! I remembered why I didn't buy SU way back when. I decided, however that I had invested in them, so I should get them done. I turned on the TiVo and started trimming and mounting. I got them done and distributed them to the appropriate areas according to theme. I don't keep them in their cases because I never use them when I can't see them. I have to see them when I open that drawer!!!
QUESTION:
Is there anything cool to do with those plastic cases?? I don't need storage so that's out. Any ideas out there????

So Sorry

If surgery wasn't bad enough, now I have a bad cold which of course has gone down into my chest. Thankfully it has stabilized and hasn't gone into pneumonia. One of these days I'm going to be 100% and back to my passion.....stamping!! lol What's that old saying, "when it rains, it pours"!!! Nothing like coughing your toenails up right after surgery!!! Sheesh!!

Don't forget to sign up for The Bow Easy in an earlier post!! I tried it, it's cool.

I am truly blessed!!

I went to the Dr. for my two weeks post-operative appointment yesterday. He took out the rest of the staples (my gosh they are annoying!!). Only a couple areas had a little infection, nothing to be worried about. ALL of the tests had come back and ALL of them were 100% cancer free. I am a truly blessed woman!! Now on to projects.....

In Memory of.......

BISCUIT

The day that I had major, emergency surgery, my husband had to put my sweet, beloved dog, Biscut to sleep. I never got to say goodbye so I want to acknowledge her one more time. I had her 13 + years and she was my constant compaion. Completely my dog. She did not have a mean bone in her body. I loved her with all my heart and always will. I miss her dearly.

Where Have I Been?

About a week ago I had two tumors taken out of my abdomen. One was the size of a basketball and the other, a cantaloupe! I was in immense pain before the surgery and am now feeling great. Everything was benign so I'm a lucky person.

I will draw tomorrow and get the package sent out to the winner. Sorry for the delay but UPS doesn't do pick-up in a hospital! lol

Who's the Best??

I just finished a project where I used Perfect Pearls, Shimmerz and Smooches. Here's how I would rate them.

1st Place (by a long mile) SMOOCHES
2nd Place............................Shimmerz
And never again.................Perfect Pearls

The Smooches were soooooo easy to use. I was "coloring" tiny places. Absolutely no comparison with the Perfect Pearls. The Smooches applicator MAKES them easy to apply. Therefore, I rated them over the Shimmerz. I'll take the Smooches anytime!!!!!

BTW, I'm buying the 8 new colors of Smooches. Absolutely love them!!!

Just Wondering

I subscribe to several designer blogs for cards. They make beautiful cards but I always wonder how in the world do they send them? They use big beautiful bows and embellishments that would cost a fortune to mail!! Way to impractical for our little post office. Just ideas I guess.....?? Or to sell something??

At You Spicas

A long time ago I bought some glitter pens at Costco. You know "the whole bunch of pens for not much money"?? Well they didn't work worth beans so I gave up on glitter pens, thought they were a waste of time and money.
Evidentally they read my mind!! (It's a quick read!! lol) I took the plunge and bought the At You Spica glitter pens. They come 12 to a pack for about $30. They are WONDERFUL!! They cover and glitter with ease. It was a great purchase. I used them on a project that was teeny, tiny where Stickles just couldn't go. Love them!!! I bought them at Ellen Hutson (web page is on the side).

Christmas Card 1

A customer ordered 100 Christmas cards. They can be alike in groups of 10. I stole this idea from Cardmaker but of course did it my way. It's decorated inside also. It's a very pretty, simplistic card.

Each holly leaf is punched out and then three tiny holly berries glued on. Thank goodness I only had 10 to do (I did do a couple extras!!) I even dreamed about gluing on those berries!

After working days and into the nights, I have 7 months done. All the little parts are colored, cut out, punched, glittered and whatever.
However, the laundry is out the door and multiplies as I type, there is only Watermelon and Cantaloupe to eat in the fridge. So on to laundry and cooking for awhile!!

My New Project

After finally getting my room done, I'll start showing my newest project. I am SO excited about it!!! I am doing a dozen of these to sell at a Saturday Market this fall. I am only doing 12 of this project as I absolutely hate repeating. I will be showing the months as I get the prototypes done.
I haven't finished the wooden stands yet. I am waiting on that. I'll probably paint them and distress them.
I would LOVE to have comments and suggestions. So please post about any changes you would make!! I mostly want to know if they are too plain, do I need to add more goo-gahs??? I do tend to go towards the simplistic side. Let me know.
Today I am posting January.....

The Last Areas

These three areas haven't changed much. I have two plastic shoe holders on the front and back of the door. They hold all the puches but the edgers (I suppose I could put my edgers there too. Just haven't done it.). The computer area and the baskets next to it are for my photo editing, internet and so on. The paper area isn't the most convenient but it is sorted by color, theme and company. The baskets hold things like extra images that are stamped, stickers (not too many of those) and other goodies.
Th-th-that's all folks!!
Now on to doing some scapbooking for the two boys. Fun, fun, fun!!!
Thanks for stopping by and looking. Double thanks for posting. I enjoy reading your posts.

Ribbons

I've shown you the Ribbon Rings before. A great system for hanging ribbons that aren't on spools.

I bought these ribbon holders off the internet, painted them black. They work perfect of ribbon on the spools. On top of them are the small Ikea jars that are filled with color sorted buttons. Works great. The buttons on the top shelf are colors I rarely use because they aren't as accessible. Eventially I play on adding more of these ribbon shelves on my broadway play wall. That's why I'm thinking of moving all play billboard frames to the top of the windows.
The black bookshelf under the ribbon are filled with odds and ends of projects and SU stamps. The black binders are acrylics that are in acrylic page thingys. It's not a great system but it's the best I can come up with so far.

Cutting Area 2

I forgot to mention the first cutting area. I have my Big Shot on top of the wooden bank cabinet. I keep all the supplies for it in the black drawers on the the left. Very handy!!

Today I'm showing you cutting area 2. Nothing spectacular but it holds my Slice and sewing machine. One of these days I'm going to get a mini craft sewing machine. This one is old as the hills and heavy to move, even sliding back and forth. But not for awhile.....

At first I wanted the cutting machines all in one area. It just didn't work with the size of the Cricut Expressions. So I've settled for three areas with all the "stuff" with each machine. It seems to work because I don't have to dig for this and that and I KNOW where everything is. It's all about convenience and organization when I craft.

On the wall I have framed broadway plays and concerts that I've gone to. I wish I had done it when I first started going. I don't have some of the earlier ones like Annie, Pride and Prejudice, La Miserabes, Simon and Garfunkel, Elton John, Bon Jovi and so on...but I do have all the later plays and concerts. It's fun to look up at the wall and remember them and the time spent with my kids. I do think they will have to be moved to on top of the two windows because I'm starting to need more wall space for my ribbon holders. We'll see.

I love to see people's ideas in their craftrooms. I'm just hoping this will give you inspiration.

Thank you for looking!!

Have a good weekend.

The Work Area

This is where I work. On the left are the drawers of things that I use all the time. Inks, embellishments and so on. The stamps on the wall are general stamps and are used often.
The bulletin board hangs all my Nestabilities. This works GREAT!!

This is a bucket system that I found at Ikea. It is absolutely perfect for my Marvy markers. My watercolor pencils are under the lamp. Not a perfect place but the box they come in is an awkward size and I need it to be accessable.
This is my Copic area. I got this idea from another blog and ordered the little cabinets off the internet. They work pretty good.
The pink/brown/black tote is full of my "have to have out" tools. It is on a plastic turntable and is perfect for what I wanted. When I take classes, everything but my cutter is in this bag.
Oh yeah, the added decor is Lucy on her perch. Be sad for her!! She slipped outside last night and got thumped by a stray. She was terrified!! Now I have keep checking for abscesses. Poor Lucy!!!
Thanks for stopping by. Be sure and ask any questions!! I know all (lol NOT)!!

Craftroom Pic 1

This is first area I'm going to show you. I used to have white plastic drawers that sagged and just didn't work! The two black drawer units are from the Best Scrapbook Shelves. Hmmm it looks like you can look into the drawers but in reality you can't. There is a gap between them but sitting here typing, I can't see the stuff inside.
The antique wood cabinet is full of stamps. The cabinet came out of the old bank here in Condon and works great for all kind of stamps. The thinner drawers hold wood mounted stamps. The three larger drawers towards the bottom, hold cd cases full of acrylics. On top is my Big Shot and all the supplies for it are in the black cabinet to your left. It also holds all my Just Rite Stamps and edge punches. Generally stuff that I do use but not all the time.
The small baskets underneath hold the cards I have made and are categorized.
On top of the black cabinets are jars I got from Ikea and hold my flowers. Now I can quickly see what I have (they are sorted by color) and what I lack.
The black cabinet on your right holds all the "stuff" I use a lot. Tomorrow I will show how that goes together with my actual stamping area.
Thanks for looking. Stay tuned!!

Cutting Area Cabinet

I have one cabinet all done from The Best Scapbook Shelves. It certainly "cleans" up the area. I have the other shelf put together and am awaiting the drawers. I'll post before and after pics when it's all done.

I wanted to create one more "area" from my Cricut Expressions machine, sort of a cutting area. A place where everything is together and organized. I found the perfect kitchen sideboard and ordered it yesterday. The best thing was that it was on sale with free shipping. Here's a picture of it. It will fit in great as my room is beige and black with wicker baskets and what not. I am so anal about rooms having color themes...........sheesh.

Good News lol

I am offially DONE playing Tibia (the computer game I was hooked on). The first clue that I needed to move on, my hips were killing me and I couldn't figure it out. Did some thinking and realized I was spending hours sitting in one place playing that damn game.

Second clue: The laundry was hitting the roof of the laundry room.
Third clue: The refrigerator was bare.
Fourth clue: My family threatened to divorce me (haha not really but close).

Looking back, what a colossal waste of time!!! Sheesh!!!

I got some big card orders, made up the 3 sympathy cards and forgot to take pics. I have graduation cards to make so I hope to remember this time TO TAKE PICTURES.

Also, I will have another blog candy soon with the last of the nestabilities that I double ordered (duh on me). Stay tuned.
Thanks for sticking it out during my addiction. Do they have a group for computer game addicts?????

Miss Ronda

There are tons of talented card makers/scrapbookers (including you people!!) out there. Sometimes you meet someone whom you just click with, right?? Well I have a friend that meets both of these criterias..........................let me introduce you to Miss Ronda from Danica's Scrapbooking. EVERYONE at Danica's is so creative but I'm highlighting Ronda because of a card.
Ronda has more creativity in her pinkie than I do my whole body!! Her projects are usually simplistic and that is what I tend to love.
She sent me a birthday card that is just so much fun but also simplistic. See, she doesn't buy/have all the go gahs that I have to have. But she creates the best cards!!!

Here is a birthday card she sent me. I laughed and laughed when I got it. It's just so funny and sweet at the same time.
Oh yeah, the inside says,
"In this day and AGE, life is so uncertain!! Just Eat the frosting."
THANK YOU MISS RONDA!!
Please note the fake eyelashes.....so cute!!

Lucy Lou

I love this cat!! She's always with me. So much so that if you haven't seen my crafting room, she has her own "perch" right above where I stamp.
Yesterday I was working on a labor intensive card for a friend of mine. I had stamped and cut the mask for the second stamping. Earlier I had paper pierced and colored another area. Anyway, Lucy was sleeping and twitching..........normal while I stamp. I was just getting ready to do the second round of stamping and this silly cat rolled off her perch in her sleep right on my card!! Of course it ruined my stamping but what was funny was that she landed on my black Momento teardrop shaped ink. She had a perfect teardrop stamped on her rear end. I tried to catch her but she was freaked!! She spent the day with the mark on her rear end until I got my hands on her!!!

Here's another card that I finished:

I meant to post this with Dana's birthday card....forgot. No surprise there. This is the inside of the card. What I want you to look at is the design of this Fiskars punch. Crop-A-Dile Big Bite

I bought one of these when I went on my birthday craft shopping day. It took me a full 15 minutes to get it out of the packaging. Now mind you, that was just the Big Bite!!! It took me another 5+ minutes to get to the directions!!! And guess what!!!! The sheet of paper said INSTRUCTIONS in English but everything else was in French!! I finally found the instructions on a scrap of cardboard and it was white typing on baby blue. Ya can't read it!!!! Sheesh!!!
Anyway, whoever invented that hard plastic, heat sealed at the edges packaging should be shot!!! Anyone with arthritis simply would not be able to open it!!! And can I return it if I choose??? Not a chance!!! Grrrrr!!

I haven't used it yet but I seems heavy although it is designed to "stand" on the table not like the basic Crop-A-Dile.

I would love to hear from you that have one. Comments???

March 31

I had a great birthday yesterday. As you may know already, I live in the boonies. I always tell everyone the nearest McDonalds is about an hour away with mostly wheat fields, deer, elk, cougars and game birds in between. The town I live in has 650 wonderful people but it's not much on the shopping for crafts side.

So my husband took me to the big city (The TriCities in Washington) for dinner and some craft shopping!! First stop was Michaels. I did a lot of looking but didn't find anything that I really needed. I did pick up a few stick pens and found some photo boxes for a project. I was excited about those two items. My husband went to Sportsman Warehouse.

Next, Craftware House. This is one of my favorite stores. I bought everything from the Big Bite Crop-a-dile to cowboy up paper for my two boys I scrap for. I found some Heidi Swapp Ghosts. I've been looking and looking for them! My husband took a nap in the car.

Then we went to Costco which I love. I bought some groceries but I mostly I looked and looked.

To top the day, we went to Red Lobster for their Lobster Fest. Heavenly!!!

Thank you to all of you followers!! You make my day with your comments!!
