Dachshund's are pigs. There's no getting around it. I know because I have two of them. My old dachshund choked on a chew stick and I had to preform the Heimlach manuever on her several times yesterday. The last time I did it, I did it really hard. She threw up and was alright. Leave it up to a Dachshund to almost die while eating something. Here's a picture of both of them.......white-faced dog is our old dog Biscuit, the other one is our younger dog, Bagel.

We had dachshunds during my childhood, and I remember one named Maggie found something dead in the backyard and scarfed the thing (maybe a leg of something) down whole because she saw me coming over to take it from her. Soooooo gross!
(but the are the sweetest dogs- my grandma always said, "they try to be good.")

Yes...my Chelly is such a piglet...she begs for food. She sits on her butt ( yes her butt ) and begs for anything we are eating..it doesn't matter, she wants some. But she is such a sweetheart. Our cat lays just like your Lucy...I think our animals are related in some way. LOL ...we do have so much in common...
